I love helping others, and taking care of others. I guess it is what has driven me to become a CNA, a LMT and a stay at home Mom. But, it has been a while since I did something that has helped the community and those that are less fortunate and I feel like I have been selfish long enough – so, it is time to help.
There is an amazing program here in Raleigh called Feed The Need. It is a part of The Food Bank of Central and Eastern North Carolina’s mission to harness and supply resources so that no one goes hungry in central and eastern North Carolina.
Last year, The Food Bank distributed over 18.6 MILLION pounds of food!
This year, their goal is to distribute between 40 and 42 million pounds to those in need. So, how can we help?
Well, on April 21st, at local Harris Teeters, Feed The Need will be set up accepting food and monetary donations. These donations will go towards many different programs that The Food Bank offers.
Why should you help?
There are over 16.2 million hungry children in America.
Need I say more?
I just love the programs, so many children are getting weekend meals, and are getting fed because of this one organization! Just imagine what we could do if everyone pitched in to help these children, and even the “working poor” and the elderly.
I urge all of you to join me on April 21st and help Feed The Need at Harris Teeter.
If you cannot make it, or of course, if you are not in Raleigh, contact your local food bank and learn about how you can help.
