Love Grown Foods Review

February is National Hot Breakfast Month, a time where we encourage our kids to eat a healthy breakfast – every day.  I’m sure by now, most of you know how much I love and support local businesses. Love Grown Foods is a company that started right here in Denver in 2008 and when they contacted me to see if I wanted to try some of their cereals and granola, I jumped right on the opportunity.  All their products are made with LOVE are are free of GMO, high fructose corn syrup, and hydrogenated oils with many gluten free options meaning all-natural, nutritious and high quality ingredients!

We absolutely LOVE breakfast, and sometimes finding healthy breakfast options can be a struggle – especially with kids.  But Love Grown Foods has you covered.  Not only do they have delicious oatmeals, but they have some kid-friendly cereals that Mom and Dad will like too!

As soon as Anthony saw the new box of Polar Puffs cereal in our pantry, he immediately brought it too me along with the gallon of milk and told me he wanted some cereal.  Two bowls later, he was finally full!

With all of the crap that is in other cereals, I was happy that we found an option that was gluten-free, wheat-free AND corn-free.  Love Grown Foods kids cereals are made with a bean blend of navy beans, lentils and garbanzo beans.  Awesome right?  Best of all, you can’t even tell that it’s beans you’re eating for breakfast – or if you’re like me, a late night snack!

Not his best picture… but he was shoveling the Polar Puffs in like he was never going to eat again!

Not only was the kids breakfast cereal delicious, but the granola and oatmeal – OH M G!  Fan-freakin-tastic!  Love Grown Foods Super Oats Nuts and Seeds Oatmeal isn’t plain Jane oatmeal. It’s made with oats, chia seeds, quinoa flakes, amaranth flakes, almonds, walnuts, pumpkin seeds and flaxseed, and Super Oats are unsweetened so you can customize as you like.  Talk about a nutritional powerhouse and it’s ready in only 3 minutes!!  We added some brown sugar to ours because I am still a kid at heart, and love extra brown sugar on my oatmeal!

And if you need an even quicker breakfast or something on the go, Love Grown Foods has instant oatmeal packs (like we are used to as kids) and these REALLY convenient single serve cups that you can cook and eat the oatmeal in, and like the rest of Love Grown Foods products are free of artificial ingredients!

My favorite Love Grown Foods product I tried was the Super Oats Nuts and Seeds Oatmeal, but D.J. on the other hand thoroughly enjoyed the Love Grown Foods Sweet Cranberry Pecan Oat Clusters.  He has been eating it as a snack, and on top of some yogurt for breakfast.  We usually make our own granola because everything we find in the store is filled with artificial sweeteners, and God knows what else, but Super Oats Nuts and Seeds Clusters only have gluten-free oats, evaporated cane juice, dried cranberries, canola oil, coconut, sunflower seeds, vanilla, pecans, flaxseed, cinnamon, sea salt.  That’s it.  No preservatives, no artificial ingredients, no GMO’s – it’s a pure, healthy granola.

Now that you know a little bit about all of the delicious breakfast options that Love Grown Foods has to offer, let me tell you a little bit about the company.  As I’ve mentioned before, and I am sure that I will mention time and time again, I absolutely LOVE supporting local businesses.  Love Grown Foods was started right here in Denver (like I mentioned above), by Alex and Maddy.  Their belief that everyone should have access to healthy food is what inspired Love Grown Foods to not just be a product on the shelves, but a company with a passion to make a true change. With Alex’s desire to start his own company, and Maddy’s background in nutrition, Pilates, and massage therapy, the couple launched Love Grown Foods. In a short matter of time, but a lot of hard work, they turned Love Grown Foods into a national brand on a mission to create change.  In addition to offering great products (made with LOVE) in grocery stores across the country, our passion is to be a part of the bigger change that needs to happen. Alex and Maddy are taking the time to visit classrooms (from kindergarten to high school) and educating kids on the importance of eating breakfast and fueling their bodies right.

I love how Love Grown Foods is as passionate as I am about making sure that kids are eating a healthy breakfast.  The premise behind Love Grown Foods’ PASSION initiative is simple, too many kids lack education about how to properly fuel their bodies with the right foods.  We don’t teach nutrition in schools like we should, and we all know how terrible school lunches are.  Love Grown Foods believe these important lessons about nutrition empowers kids to grow up healthy and happy.  Showing kids how food can be healthy and delicious is the first step towards inspiring them to take control of their nutrition and develop life-long healthy habits.

Love Grown Foods knows that if food tastes good, we are more likely to eat it, and if the food we eat is nutritious, we are more likely to be healthy.  Momma always said that breakfast is the most important meal of the day, and starting your day off with a healthy and absolutely DELICIOUS breakfast from Love Grown Foods makes for a good morning!

Although I did receive cereals, oatmeals and granolas from Love Grown Foods, all opinions are my own and have not been influenced in any way.  Love Grown Foods is an amazing company that really spreads their passion, and LOVE for healthy foods, and I LOVE that about them.

Join me and Love Grown Foods and spread the LOVE!
