I am no stranger to juicing. As much of a coffee
addict lover that I am, there really isn’t much better than a big glass of fresh green juice first thing in the morning. It gives you this boost throughout the day that is hard to explain. When I drink my green juice every day, I feel alive, for lack of a better term, and I feel like I can accomplish anything. I bought my first juicer in early 2013, and have never looked back. I have tried all different kinds of juice combinations, and have juiced almost every fruit and vegetable possible, but juicing at home is A LOT of work. Breville has a great juicer, that fits whole apples, and such, so there isn’t a lot of prep work, but cleaning the juicer can really be a pain, especially if you’re crunched for time in the mornings. This really has deterred me to make juice lately, and I knew there had to be a better way to get in my morning juice, without all the cleanup!
When Evolution Fresh challenged me to join the 3 Days to Green Movement, and drink one green juice a day towards a better self and a healthy habit, I immediately accepted the challenge. To be honest, I had never tried a bottled “fresh” juice before now, and I was very intrigued.
I headed to my local Albertson’s and picked up my juices. They had two green varieties available when I went shopping, so I bought two Sweet Greens and Lemon and one Super Green. Each juice cost around $4.95, so the 3 Days To Green Movement cost $15. Which is pretty darn cheap, considering that one full bottle of Sweet Greens and Lemon juice contains over 1 lb of green vegetables!
Today I tried Sweet Greens and Lemon. It’s loaded with fruit and green vegetables like; spinach, kale, romaine lettuce, parsley, cucumber, apples and lemon. Before I could even take a sip, my three-year-old son saw that I was about to have a green juice (we’ve been adding spinach to his apple juice since he was a baby!), he decided that he needed some too and handed me a sippy cup. I poured him a little bit in a cup, and I got the rest.
DE-LIC-IOUS! Wow. I was expecting the juice to taste a little processed, and it honestly tasted like something that came right out of my juicer. Mind=Blown! Except Evolution Fresh juice is smooth, or pulp-free! This juice is perfect for someone who is new to juicing, or new to drinking vegetable juices. It tastes green, but it isn’t too in your face. It has just the right amount of sweetness.
Todays juice was Super Green. I got to enjoy this one alone, while the boys were outside playing in the snow. I was excited to try it because it was mostly fruit, and was blended with spirulina. Most of the time when I drink spirulina, it tends to be chalky, so I was a little nervous, but still excited, because yesterdays juice was so delicious.
This juice was a little more pulpy than the others, but OH-MY-GOD! It tastes like I am on a tropical island! The orange and mango really shine, and to be honest, other than the color, I’d have no idea that there was greens in it. I actually went on a cleaning binge after I drank my juice. Take about a boost of energy. This thing is LOADED with vitamins!
I drank the Sweet Greens and Lemon again today. Just as delicious as it was day one! The best part? I’m feeling great. The #3DaystoGreen Movement, was the kick-in-the-pants that I needed to get my self back on the track towards better health. With the new year upon us, this was a great opportunity to take advantage of healthy habits and fresh (juice) starts!
