It’s Pancake Tuesday! Enjoy Breakfast for Dinner tonight with Krusteaz!
If you’ve been following Mom’s Bistro for a while, and get my meal plans, you know that once a month, I schedule “Breakfast for Dinner“. Breakfast for dinner is one of my favorite meals, it’s sweet, savory and best of all, breakfast is a pretty quick and easy meal to make.
February is Hot Breakfast Month, and again if you follow Mom’s Bistro, you know how passionate I am about breakfast, fighting hunger and feeding our kids, warm meals in the morning. And Krusteaz is just as passionate about breakfast which is why they named every Wednesday in February, Breakfast for Dinner night – or Brinner!
Krusteaz makes brinner easy and allows kids to get in the kitchen and help with their pancake and waffle mixes. Not only can families spend quality time in the kitchen cooking, but they can sit down together and enjoy a meal that is easy, familiar and delicious.
Usually in our house, D.J. is the breakfast king. He makes the best eggs, and can flip the perfect pancake. I don’t know why, but watching him master breakfast gives me those little chills up my spine like when we first started dating! There is just something so special about being in the kitchen together cooking, and Krusteaz takes a lot of the extra stress and dishes out of the equation making it much more enjoyable to spend time together.
Last Wednesday when we had our weekly Breakfast For Dinner night, we had two different types of Krusteaz pancakes – buttermilk and blueberry. It was a fluke that our brinner night ended up on a Wednesday, coinciding with Krusteaz’s Breakfast For Dinner Night. We also had some eggs and bacon with our breakfast!
our blue plate special!
To make our pancakes, we used this really neat pan called the “Perfect Pancake.” It has four wells to make the perfect size pancakes every time. You pour in some batter, close the lid and wait a couple minutes. Check the pancakes, flip the pan, and they will cook on the flat side of the pan really making the Perfect Pancake. The pan even makes fried eggs. I’m not gonna lie, this pan is really freaking cool!
Krusteaz has always been a family owned business and was started by a group of women who made a just add water pie crust and it grew from there. Today, Krusteaz remains a family-owned business that stands for innovative products, premium ingredients and easy-to-make mixes to fit every occasion. The product line includes pancakes, waffles, muffins, quick breads and flatbreads, cookies, dessert bars, cornbread, crumb cakes and a line of Gluten Free products. Every box invites consumers to have fun in the kitchen, get a little messy, fuel their creativity and enjoy the possibilities Krusteaz mixes bring to the table.
Not only did we make breakfast for dinner that night, we finished our night with some Blueberry Muffins from Krusteaz’s Wild Blueberry Muffin Mix. And in the spirit of the Super Bowl, and our hopes that the Broncos would win (of course they won), we added some orange food coloring and made Broncos Muffins!
Next on my list to make: Chicken and Waffles with Krusteaz Waffle Mix!
