I tell you, I met Emily, one of most amazing young women I have ever known tonight. I am still in awe of her. I was at work, and she came into the store with her Mom to buy some truffles – she had good taste in her chocolate choices too, I must add! While she was in the store, her mom said “ohhh you left your wallet at home”, and I joked around saying “way to go – I always did that when I was younger.” Her mom then explained to me how her daughter who was visually impaired was saving money for an iPad because her school could not afford it, and that she needed it to learn. After almost falling over, I asked Emily, how it was going, and she and her mom explained to be about her website.
Emily has a website, www.kardz4kidz.com, and she makes homemade cards (like the one above) to raise money to put towards her iPad purchase. She has taken the time to create her website, and crest the cards. I was just so shocked when she told me this. It is not too often that we see children taking the initiative and working towards getting an iPad or whatever it is themselves. I have seen so many selfish children, especially working in the mall, who just beg their parents to get what they want. Emily, is simply an amazing young woman.
I really hope that Emily and I can work together, and we can help reach her goal of $800 for her iPad. You can find Emily’s beautiful handmade cards and read her story on her website,
Check them out, and order some for Christmas today! Only $1 a card, and your money helps out this beautiful young woman to pursue her education!
With Love and Best Wishes,
